A few thoughts on making time to talk to God in the midst of a busy schedule as well as some announcements about upcoming deadlines and events.
First of all, I want to apologize for not sending out an email for a few weeks. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that life has been a bit hectic here lately. Between class, work, family, and church, it's been hard to find time for much of anything.
I'm sure I'm also not alone in what that means: I haven't been great about finding time to study God's Word, to pray, or to just be still and reflect on where God is moving in and around me so that I can do my part.
Martin Luther is famous for once saying, "I have so much to do today that I'm going to need to spend three hours in prayer in order to be able to get it all done." Luke records in his gospel that Jesus "often withdrew to deserted places and prayed." Luke
5:16. I wish I could say that I live that out in my life, and it might be asking a lot to take three hours a day, but we do need to remember to take time to calm our hearts and minds from the craziness of life and just take our worries, our joys, and our
trials to God and listen for His still, small voice.
