Young Life

            Young Life is an organization that strives to give adolescents the chance to meet Jesus as well as grow in their faith. This is accomplished through college students who are willing to invest in the lives of high school students all throughout Nashville. There are several ways that these college students are able to help high school kids meet Jesus and grow in their faith. They pray for the students, go to the schools and meet the kids where they are at, build relationships, provide activities that are fun, adventurous, as well as life-changing, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them.

            Young Life shares many of Belmont’s core values, such as integrity, collaboration, humility, and service. Like Belmont, Young Life is very student centered, and focuses on allowing students to engage the community around them by serving high school and middle school students around Nashville. Young Life strives to live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and looks to encourage the welfare and spiritual health of those who participate in their ministry. Young Life also looks to build a diverse community by reaching out to students of all social, cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds.

            Young Life can make a positive contribution to the existing campus life and overall student experience at Belmont. Young Life offers a unique opportunity for current students to truly have an impact on the community surrounding them by ministering to high school students. Furthermore, Young Life is open to anyone who wants to join, and builds community through the common experience of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ.

            Young Life is an organization that has been around since 1941, and is deeply rooted in communities all across the world. There are no funds necessary for students to join Young Life.
